Coverday Friday! (2) (+Review)

We're back again for....

Behind a Million and One Pages

This is the second ever Coverday Friday hosted here by yours truly :) Let's get into it!!

This Friday's cover, well there's two so your opinion matters (as always) onto which, however, they are the same novel.

OR/

Why Hello There:

Just as a memo, the top cover is for the original one for the Kindle on Amazon while the bottom has only just been released (or I've only just seen it). When I first saw the top cover I was shocked yet amazed at this. Tattooing the tongue? The cover is very awesome and got me thinking to people who have gotten a tattoo on their tongue. Google images provides us with some strange things :/ (there's one with a zipper!) but none of them are to this quality as we see on the cover. On the second cover I only just saw it today and really got stuck in my head both of the covers and trying to decide which is better.

At the Other End:

The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate percentage of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance between her and the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend America, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the charming college co-ed. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his charms, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’ apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match

Behind the 454 Pages:

WARNING. SPOILERS NOTED AT END.

Ok, first things first, I love the cover and all but from reading the book I have failed to see how it's relevant with the story...

The main words that are included in novel are:
Pigeon
Pige
Shower
Love
Sorry
Travis
Trav
Fight
Yes the book is basically based around these words because they are in evey chapter and nearly every paragraph...
This is one of those books where you devour every page and you don't even realise that it's 454 pages because the story has gone so fast you'd think that there was only 100 pages.
The title of the novel is very fitting as Abby and Travis are a beatiful disaster. It is, overall, a great novel and I completely and totally loved it from front to back!

Which cover do YOU PREFER? What do YOU THINK of the covers? Would YOU READ this novel?

SPOILER ALERT:

Other than that, this is a beautiful story that made me want to keep turning the page everytime to find out what happens between Abby and Travis' complicated relationship (I was nearly late for work because I wanted to stay and read instead). Half the time I just wanted to shake the girl because she was that caught up in herself trying not to feel anything for Travis that she failed to notice how much he was changing for her and how he does actually love her.

I would have thought that when she was about to leave him when they were in Vegas the first time that he would have nderstood about why she didn't want him to go through with this. At this time it was probably the only time that he only saw as Lucky Thirteen, then he does realise his mistake.

I can't believe that when she was about to say that she wants to get back together with him at his fathers that she didn't say anything because he didn't say the exact words that she wanted him to say so that the only thing that she would've needed to do was to say Yes. Didn't she realise that he only said that he wanted to be friends because it was of her to keep her happy and not because he wanted to exactly but it was also just a way to be close to with without actually being with her. I don't know why she didn't realise this and say so in the first place! Also at the end when she told him that she wanted to get back together with him beforehand I thought that he would've gotten slightly angry and left the room or something to show that it wasn't alright just because he wanted to make it easier for her and more bareable for him just by seeing her.

I thought that there should have been more of a shock to Abby's background and to her contfrontation with Benny. Yes it did end up testing their relationship - to the brink - but there should have been something more, or there should have been more of a shocking twist or something.

Travis so adorable for everything that he does for Abby! She is right that he's moving too fast but it's probably overwhelming for him because he has never loved anyone other than his mother before

  1. Hi Gina,
I like the second cover possibly because it doesn't involve me looking in someone's mouth..lol. And yes I would definitely read it.
