BLOG TOUR!! Saved by Moonlight by Sarah Makela

At the Other End:
A werewolf reveals what he is to save the love of his life...

Sylvi comes home to find someone lurking in the apartment she shares with her boyfriend. When Lukas arrives in time to rescue her, she’s shocked to learn what he really is. A werewolf.

Shhh....... Don't Tell:

Sylvi turned off the shower and dried herself. She wrapped the large bath towel around her then set off to grab the cordless phone from the living room. There weren’t any flashing lights on the phone to indicate that Lukas had called. Disappointment fluttered in her chest before she shoved it away.
He probably had a busy schedule filled with meetings and schmoozing galore.
She headed for the bedroom and paused in the hallway, staring at the closed door. Had she closed it this morning? Lukas couldn’t be here since he would have come out to greet her. However, he wouldn’t close the bedroom door either. They had no reason to.
She chewed on her lower lip and looked down at the phone. Her thumb hovered over the number nine. Should she call the police? What if no one was there? What if she’d had a strange memory lapse? She’d look like an idiot.
Stop acting like a child, she scolded herself.
Taking a deep breath, she jerked the door open and flipped on the light. Her gaze raked the room. It was decorated in delicate shades of blue and white. She and Lukas had done this together, as a team. The memory brought a smile to her face. Until she saw him...
Demetrius stood by the window overlooking the street, staring into the rainy night. She knew it was him by his overwhelmingly muscular build and shoulder-length brown hair. How had he found her after all these years? They’d experienced a short, wild rendezvous before she’d come to Florida, but it was so over!
“What are you doing here?” Her voice shook slightly. He turned to face her, and she stepped back toward the door.
Tension rose and filled the air.
“Hello to you, too.” He stalked over to the bed. His hands splayed over the blue velvet comforter. “Mmm... Soft. You certainly do have superb taste.” The bed groaned under his weight as he crawled onto the mattress and stared at her.
“What do you want?” Sylvi shivered and pressed herself against the doorframe. She had to get out of here. There was no telling what he’d do, especially with her being so vulnerable.
Demetrius licked his lips and ran his gaze over her as if willing her towel away. “You.”
“That’s too bad because --” Sylvi’s words cut off as Demetrius jumped at her in a graceful leap.
He closed the distance between them like a predator. “You were saying?” A smug grin caressed his lips.
“I was trying to say I have a boyfriend.” She took a step into the hallway, but he grabbed her upper arm and pulled her against his chest. She was five foot five inches, and yet the top of her head barely reached his shoulder. Even when they’d lusted after each other, his towering stature had intimidated her.
“I don’t see anyone else here.” He glanced around the room pointedly.
She shivered, but not entirely from the cool air conditioning. Tendrils of fear chased down her spine.

Take A Seat. Get Strapped In. Let's Go For A Ride:

1. Where have we seen you before? (previous projects/works)
I’ve been writing for several years, and I have fourteen stories published. I’ve completed series of novellas called the Amazon Chronicles set in the Amazon Rain forest about a tribe of women who mate with werecat shapeshifters. I’ve also written a historical western paranormal erotic romance that has a group of werewolves sold to work camps called Captive Moonlight, two superhero erotic romances, a fun holiday short story with a Finnish elf who watches over Santa’s reindeers. I also have a cyberpunk romance series called Hacked Investigations featuring a technomage and his private investigator girlfriend and partner and a series about a werewolf and woman who possesses a dynamic tattoo with a life of its own called Feral Ink.

2. What goes through your mind after your novel has been on sale for the first week?
Usually I feel relief. While I know I have marketing and promotion for the book to do, I’m glad to have the book is available for the readers. There’s also a sense of accomplishment at being finished with the writing and editing of the story.

3. What inspired you to write this novel?
I was inspired to write the story several years ago from a contest prompt, but it’s changed so much since then. At first, it was a very short attempt at contemporary romance, but I’m a paranormal romance author at my core, so I did more brainstorming to decide how the characters would react if they were in a paranormal world. I’m very pleased with the outcome.

4. What do you think about when getting/seeing negative reviews?
I realize that every reader has her own opinion and personal preference. There’s no way to please everyone, but I hope to make as many people happy as I can with my writing.

5. How long was the writing/planning process?
I started writing it a few years ago but continued it on and off since then. Planning/writing it to how it is now took twelve days.

6. What was your reaction to the cover art when you saw it for the first time? Did you have any ideas from the days of writing/inspiration?
I was very pleased with the cover art for Saved by Moonlight. The font for the title is very eye-catching and nicely fits with the theme. I picked out a few examples of stock art to show the cover artist at my publisher.

7. Any plans for future writing projects? Any being worked on now?
I have a few future writing projects in various stages. Another Christmas story that’s somewhat of a sequel to Her Christmas Elf called Vera’s Christmas Wish will out in December. Also, the next Hacked Investigations book called Digital Slave will release March 2014. I also have a couple others I’m looking at self-publishing.

8. Top 5 books
  • Cassie Palmer series by Karen Chance
  • Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton
  • Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews
  • Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs
  • Bitten by Kelley Armstrong

9. What book/s from other authors do you wish you had written?
Any book from the list above, I’d have loved to have written. They’re amazing series/books. I’m sure there’s more that I’m not thinking of. :)

10. Why read your novel?
Saved by Moonlight is sometimes dark, but fun and sexy with a hunky werewolf hero. It has good writing and great chemistry between the hero and heroine. If you love paranormal romance, you’ll enjoy Saved by Moonlight.
