The Book Blogger Test

Thanks to Tina from The Book Landers for tagging me in The Book Blogger Test!!
The rules are simple: Answer the questions truthfully and then tag 5 other bloggers.
Now onto the questions:

1. What are your top three book pet hates?
Love triangles, insta-love and stupid/dumb protagonists

2. Describe your perfect reading spot
Ooh, I love reading anywhere I can! Usually I don't really care where I read, just as long as I do. Sometimes I end up is really weird positions while reading (example; I once came out of a book coma upside-down in a chair, and had my legs sticking up in the air hahaha)

3. Tell us 3 book confessions
I am a sucker for covers (and admit to judging a book by it's cover sometimes). If I don't like one edition of the cover, I will go out of my way and buy the prettier version of the cover (aka. the Shatter Me series in the US edition covers, even though I have all the Aus edition covers).

I have tried different methods of writing reviews. I've now stuck with, I am not going to start a new book until I have written a review of the book that I had just finished. This one seems to be working for me, none of the other methods I've tried work, so I've got a whole heap of reviews that I still need to write from ages ago :/

When I know I won't be able to finish a book (DNF), I try as hard as humanely possible to at least finish up to the next chapter after I hit 100 pages. Sometimes it is reaaaaaaaaally hard to get to the 100 page limit and finish that chapter. I didn't even get up to 100 pages in, The Queen's Choice, nor did I finish the chapter! I got halfway through the chapter, and stopped at one of the paragraph breaks. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't read past it, I just kept on reading the same sentence over and over again so I gave up haha

4. When was the last time you cried at a book?
I admit to doing this quite a bit if the book is good enough. Can't remember the last book that made me cry though, so here are some that I remember crying in:

5. How many books are on your bedside table?
Ummm, I don't have any books on my bedside table. That spot is reserved for my laptop, then my currently reading book is always on top of that next to my phone. My to-read pile is the closest to my bedside table? Here is a photo! (The top books are after the ones at the bottom)

6. What is your favourite snack whilst your reading?
I don't usually eat while I'm reading, I get afraid of dirtying the pages (and if I do, then I constantly appologize to the book in my head so I don't sound crazy lol).

7. Name 3 books you would recommend to everyone
Ooooh, this is a tough one! ummm, here goes:
Awesome zombie-fied fun set in South Africa & total kick ass characters!

Something completely new and such a well developed series, will leave you craving for more every time!

Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas
Chaol!! Need I say more? (+ Celaena's awesomeness)

And so many more!

8. Show us a picture of your favourite bookshelf on your bookcase
I don't really have a favourite bookshelf.... I love them all!! Plus my shelves are in alphabetical order by author, so yeah. What the hell, here is a photo of two of my bookshelves ;) (third is still under alphabetical construction)

9. Write how much books mean to you in just 3  6 words
Cheating! I changed it to 6 words :P
My life is lived in books

10. What is your biggest reading secret?
Sometimes if a book is really slow, I will look up spoiler filled reviews, and read a tiny bit of the spoiler. Basically, enough to get me antsy, so I continue the book to find out exactly what happens and what it means. I read only a tiny bit so that I can still be {__insert appropriate emotion here__} when I actually get to it. I did this in The Twin's Daughter, I read that one of the twin's get killed, yet I was still kept guessing until the very end of the book.

That's it!! I can't wait to share this :)

  1. I'm not sure what I'm more impressed with, your TBR stack or how neat your bookshelves are. I have to confess, I have books tucked here and there all over the house. I bet my husband is glad I have an eReader. It cuts down on the piles.

    1. haha and that's just the hard copy TBR books!! they are neat now, but I usually have random stack around my room, and until I have a whole heap, I go through them and put them all in alphabetical author order. I agree, but eBooks aren't as pretty as hard copy books :) I made a promise with my partner, if I get him an Evo (a car), then he will let me have a library when we get a house :)

  2. Loved reading this! I need to do one of these soon! And I second Cherie...How are your shelves so neat?!

    1. Yes! I will add you to my tagged at the bottom :) haha I usually have a massive pile of books on my desk, then when it gets to be too much, I start re-sorting them all into author alphabetical order :P And that's only two shelves! My other, bigger one, hasn't been sorted yet, so it looks all messy

  3. Omg you have such an organised bookshelf! Wait till you see mine haha, you may have a heart-attack because it's so disorganised. :P

Thanks for tagging me lovely, I will have my post up soon (when uni stops screwing me over :'( )

    1. Thank you! haha it only gets that way, after I spend a full day sorting them all out and making them nice and neat. Can't wait to see your post!

  4. Thanks for sharing with us Gina, I just love your bookshelf! It is so pretty and well organised. I love the Throne of Glass series too. Lovely TBR pile too (READ FANGIRL!)
