Stacking the Shelves (20)

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews.
Only one again this week!

The Rain by Virginia Bergin
How cute is this proof cover! Although, don't be fooled by it though, this is the final cover art and blurb.....

One minute sixteen-year-old Ruby Morris is having her first proper snog with Caspar McCloud in a hot tub, and the next she’s being bundled inside the house, dripping wet, cold and in her underwear. Not cool. As she and Caspar shiver in the kitchen, it starts to rain. They turn on the radio to hear panicked voices – ‘It’s in the rain . . . it’s in the rain . . . ' That was two weeks ago, and now Ruby is totally alone. People weren’t prepared for the rain, got caught out in it, didn’t realize that you couldn’t drink water from the taps either. Even a drip of rain would infect your blood, and eat you from the inside out. Ruby knows she has to get to London to find her dad, but she just doesn’t know where to start . . . After rescuing all the neighbourhood dogs, Ruby sets off on a journey that will take her the length of the country – surviving in the only way she knows how.

  2. I really really love it when proofs have a snazzy not-real cover, haha. For some reason it just makes them feel really special, and I have this thing where I never want to give them away - even if I wasn't a huge fan of the book XD

However, this book looks absolutely amazing! I hadn't heard of it before but I instantly added to that ever-growing TBR because evil rain sounds too fabulous to pass up :D

    1. YES! I love carrying those around everywhere, it's like showing off nerd style hahaha. Same here! And even if the other covers won't match as well. It does sound amazing, and I can't wait to start reading it :)

  3. I'm adding this one too. Apocalyptic road trip and survival? Ohhh, count me in. Just seen on Goodreads that it's also being released as H2O. Either way, I'm grabbing a copy of either one I can gt my hands on. Thanks for sharing Gina.

    1. How good does it sound, right! Yeah, the American edition is called H2O... Not sure which cover and title I like better though, guess it will have to come down to the actual book.
