Book Tags Pt 1: Get to Know Me & Top 5 Books That Have Stayed With Me

I've been tagged for 4 of these tags by Kelly at Diva Booknerd and the Top 5 by Kristy at Book Nerd Reviews. I'm going to divide these up and post two at a time, so here are the ones to get to know me first, then you'll get to see my shelves and TBR etc. This is going to be exciting (not to mention hard)...
________________________________________________________________________
 How tall are you?
Umm, I'm pretty short so I purposely don't go measuring to see how short I am...
Let's just say I'm rabid fairy sized

Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?
Ummm, reading? hahaha, I make bookmarks and banners too if that counts! Although it's not really special, everyone practically knows all the ins and outs of Photoshop now.

What's your biggest blog related pet peeve?
Spoilers and shitty entire-story-is-in-the-blurb blurbs. Spoilers annoy me because I'm always really tempted to go ahead and read them, even though I plan on reading the book. I can't help it, it's just THERE! With blurbs, usually reading the blurb reveals too much of the book, surprisingly enough, I want to be shocked by revelations, not to just go "oh yeah, I already knew that from the blurb". It completely ruins the book.

What's your biggest non blog related pet peeve?
Bimbos. I'm sorry and all, but they just really annoys me when they ask stupid questions, or make really stupid statements. Half of them are only doing that to try and get attention, which just makes it worse.

What's your favourite song?
Ohhh, tough one. I'm into a whole heap of genres. I love punk and heavy metal (yep, be surprised), but then I also love Daughter and Lana Del Rey (before all the remix bullshit).
But I think my fave song at the moment is one of two:
Run and Amsterdam by Daughter

What's your favourite Etsy shop that isn't yours?
I don't shop on Etsy, but my fave little known Aussie brands are:

Mai Creation. I love the Activated Charcoal Facial Soap (above), it works wonders. I basically said goodbye to all my other facial washes and face products.

RealChai. I love me some Chai, well I actually love all Teas. Plus it tastes great with soy milk and it has CHOCOLATE!! Yes, I'm all sorts of obsessed with this Chocolate Chai (above)

A Touch of Tea. Yep, another tea shop, but this one has all kinds of glorious teas. My fave is the Turkish Apple tea (above), it's a sweet tea and smells divine.

What's your favourite way to spend your free time when you're alone?
Reading, browsing shopping for books, making bookmarks & banners, and blogging!

What's your favourite junk food?
Red Rock Deli Honey Soy Chicken chips.... mmmmmnnn

Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?
Yes, we have two Pomeranian's! Say hello to Layla (white) and Leo (brown)

What are your number one favourite nonfiction and fiction books?
I don't read non-fiction... but choosing my fave Fiction is like choosing between children..... But if I had to choose, then it would be
Son of the Shadows by Juliet Marillier (then Wildwood Dancing)

What's your favourite beauty product?
Ummm, at the moment my fave is my MAC tinted lip balm.

When were you last embarrassed? What happened?
I think it's every time I meet an author I feel like I've embarrassed myself in some way, shape or form.

If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I only ever drink two drinks, water and Peach Ice Tea!

What's your favourite movie?
Ohhh, that always changes. At the moment my sister and I are really into Austenland and we just recently saw (and loved) Maze Runner. Although, I'm really into Jane Austen movies for some reason... (which is probably why I love Austenland)

What were you in high school: Prom queen, nerd, cheerleader, jock, valedictorian, band geek, loner, artist?
Umm, ok.... This is quite American, but anyways. I wasn't really a loner, but I kept to myself and had friends at the same time (if that makes sense)

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
For some reason I've always been obsessed with wanting to go to London. But I've never traveled to Europe so I wouldn't really know if I would like somewhere better.

PC or Mac?
PC without a doubt! I loathe and refuse to use all Apple products (except the iPod Classic, that's the best product they ever did, or possibly will do in my opinion)

Last romantic gesture from a boyfriend?
All the little things!

Favourite celebrity?
To be honest, authors are really my celebrities. I honestly just about started crying when I met Juliet Marillier for the first time. Mind you, I was only standing in line at the time, I hadn't even met her yet.
But if I had to choose, it would prob be Robert Downey Jnr. IRON MAN, need I say more?

What blogger do you secretly want to be best friends with?
I'm already friends with them! These two amazing ladies that tagged me are what I consider best friends. <3
________________________________________________________________________
I know it should be Top 10, but seeing as this is combined with another tag, I'm only going to be doing 5. The rules are you can't take more than a few minutes to come up with a response, nor do they need to be outstanding works of literature, just a read that had an influence on you in some form.

Son of the Shadows by Juliet Marillier

I know, I know. I know I've said that I can hardly choose a fave book, but honestly, this has to be it. No matter how many times I've read this book, it doesn't get old, it just keeps getting better and better and better. It's a beautiful story, with a mix of Folk Lore Fantasy, Romance, and Action. Liadan is a brilliant and fierce woman, who, even though she is in love, needs no man if she intended. She is headstrong and understands what she needs to do and what she must do.

Blue is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz

This was the series of my childhood. This was my "book/series", yes, that book. Everyone has their "book", the one that actually gets them into reading, and this was it for me. It got me into my love for paranormal, and every now and then I feel the urge to pick this series back up again (yes, that urge just might be happening now)

If it wasn't for this series, I wouldn't be in love with reading as much as I do today. I wouldn't be blogging, just reading and envying those who get ARCs.

The List: A Love Story in 781 Chapters by Aneva Stout

This is the sort of book that will cheer you up no matter what mood you are in, no matter how depressed or sad or worried etc. You will smile, you will laugh, you will even hide in shame because you've even done some of the things mentioned!

This book has picked me up so many times I can't even count, and I always get the urge to read it.

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

I've always loved this story, it's a childhood favourite of mine, and will always be a favourite. This book needs no further explanation, it just is.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

I don't think that there is a series that has affected me the way that this one has. I am head over heels in love with each and every book that is currently in the series, and I don't know how, but every novel, they just keep getting impossibly better and better and better.

I love the fantasy aspect, as well as the characters, the romance and Celaena's awesome kick-ass attitude (not to mention her being an assassin too)

I've Tagged:

  2. IRON MAN. HECK YEAH. *nods* I have a lot of favourite celebrities, but mostly they're all Marvel actors. Hehe. ;) At least I'm loyal. Aaaanyway. I am quite short too, but my entire family is so I don't feel short unless I go walk amongst other humans. Then it's quite the wake-up call. BUT LET ME GASP! YOU DON'T LIKE MACS?!! I have never been so happy to have switched to a mac. It is my life. x) I will never ever go back....lol. ;-) My dad is a very adamant PC guy though, so we have a gentle rivalry about that.

I haven't been tagged for the getting-to-know-you one yet, so yay! ;) I might try squeezing that in!!

    1. I love me my Iron Man :D I can completely agree with you there! They are the best because they play the best characters, duh! Most of my family is short as well (except my youngest sister, who towers over us all... I don't know where she gets it :/)
Yeah, no. I've always had a thing against MACs, I don't know where it came from, I've just never liked them. Our school assigned us one, and I had to have that for a few years, and I never liked it.....
Awesome! Can't wait to see your post :D

  3. Your dogs are adorable! I like listening to Lana Del Rey as well, but yes the originals are always better than the remixes. I hate spoilers in blurbs as well - when that happens it can take some of the great twists and surprise reactions away. Who can go past authors as celebrities? We wouldn't have books without them! :)
